F5 does a quick animation

It may well be that everyone already knows this but just in case: the readme file explains that they left this information out of the documentation, and since no-one here has mentioned it I thought I would. If you hit F5 AS7 (I have Pro, I don't know about Debut) does a quick animated render and pul...

How to make styles work?

I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to ask an intelligent question here so I hope you'll bear with me. I've spent a lot of time today and also more time on other days trying to figure out how to use styles. I'll finally get something that seems to work and the next thing I know it stops working. Tod...

I'm also kind of a beginner, although I've been a beginner for a while now. I spend a little time every week learning AS. I've never really done much with it so far, which is probably where I need to go next. Anyway, a lot of the tutorials on Youtube are roughly made although some are pretty nicely ...

I really like the Rube Goldberg idea. I think that might be a good chance for newbies like me to learn something and it might be a lot of fun, too.

Sometimes not caring is nothing like apathy. Sometimes it's a considered opinion.

I think if you want this poll to be fair you should include an "I don't care" option. I'm sure there were others like me (possibly a lot of others) who didn't vote because neither option was a good fit. I suggest doing a new poll or changing this one if that's possible, and ignoring the re...

Re: My farewells

ASP is a great piece of software, I am just not in accord with the direction Smith Micro is going with it and I feel it is going to affect it's development in an unpredictable way, so I will not have my whole project depend on it. You don't like the direction AS is taking, but nothing has really ch...

I'm kind of curious what all this unhappiness is about. I was participating here when AS 6 was released and I remember a few complaints about there not being enough new features but nothing like we seem to be getting this time. I suggest that those who don't want to upgrade don't. I'm glad I did. :)...

I don't see problem. I bought the upgrade for $130. The new price is $200. That seems like a fair discount to me. Seriously, who pays list price? The upgrade discount from 6 to 7 is not much of a discount, for the pro version. The other poster was right that skipping a version is the better deal. I...

I don't see problem. I bought the upgrade for $130. The new price is $200. That seems like a fair discount to me. Personally I hope AS 8 with lots of new features is in the pipeline. That's a good thing. I'm as little able to afford this as anyone. I'm a hobbyest and an amateur and not even a very g...

Fishook example in library under AS 5 content and Techniques

I loaded the Fishook example and I have no idea how it works. I can't find anything in the help or on this forum about it. It shows a fish hook passing through 2 holes in a plane and being hidden properly by the plane when it's behind it and hiding the plan when it's in front of it. Looking at it fr...

I can't help but agree that hand drawn animation is better. But so what? Much of the new animation I see is also very good in it's own way. It's a different medium that calls for different talents. I'm a long retired computer programmer and I wrote software in the days before the great popularity of...

Thank you. That works. Now that you've pointed it out it seems obvious but somehow I didn't do that. :)
