Re: How can I reduce the bumps on my strokes?

Yeah, it's almost like we need to be able to set interpolation modes for points, i.e., smooth, linear, step, etc. Right now, it's doing kind of a 'S' shaped smooth I think, and I think the middle 'flattening' part is the 'bump' you're seeing. Maybe we need a 'mode' we can switch to to avoid this 'fl...

Re: Moho Plans

I looked at CA4 Pipeline when I became convinced Moho was abandonware (proved wrong, so hooray, but SM had a history of this). It had some good things, but lack of a motion graph was an absolute deal killer for me. Yeah, same here. CA4P was one of my backup plans in case Moho had gone belly-up last...

Re: How can I reduce the bumps on my strokes?

Yeah, that's something Moho just does. I think it has to do with how it interpolates the smoothness of the curve as it passes through the points. I don't think you can completely get rid of the bumps, but you can probably minimize them with a few adjustments. For example, I would try fattening up th...

Re: timeline not playing

Oh, yeah...I ran into that issue just last week during a work meeting; nobody on the call could hear me even though my computer and software was clearly 'unmuted'. It took me a minute to realize that an audio program I had been using the night before was hijacking audio control. After I shut it down...

Re: timeline not playing

For audio, I try to always use uncompressed WAV or AIF, just to be sure I get frame accuracy for lip and action syncing. When my source is mp3, I'll usually convert that to uncompressed if I'm going to be doing lip sync with it, but also just to minimize processing overhead in general. This probably...

Re: Moho Plans

There is also a Layers To Ae script at that site. I'm not sure either one still works for the current Moho, but we will need both parts for a complete Moho to Ae transfer feature. It would be cool if we had a true 'interchange' feature for Moho and Ae that allowed the two programs to communicate bac...

Re: images with smooth bone joints and targets

Yes, that was Victor's idea, a great 'unofficial' technique! 😺

Here's the original link describing it with a video example:

Re: images with smooth bone joints and targets

Re: Smooth Joint vs Layer Binding, In my first DWATV demo reel , there are animations from All Hail King Julien featuring Thighsander Plunderhorse and Norge Grindlefist. From what recall, I used Smooth Joint on Thighsander's elbows. The hands and feet are in Switch Layers that have Layer Binding to ...

Re: images with smooth bone joints and targets

When using Smooth Bone joints for legs, it cancels out the target bone setting for feet. Can you post an example? I don't think I've seen or heard about this behavior with Smooth Joint. Also, which version of Moho are you using? (I'm using Moho 12.4.) I saw the layer trick with multiple smooth join...

Re: Using PNG or TIFF

Sure, it should work. In ASP 11, imported images are bound with Flexi-bind by default. Note that an image layer is only be affected if the layer is a child layer of a Bone layer, so make sure the images are actually inside the Bone layer and not just sitting under the Bone layer. Also, your bones ne...

Re: Moho not recognizing .moho files

That's really weird. That said, I would first update to 12.4 (or 12.5 on Mac.) From what I recall, 12.0 was pretty buggy, and 12.4+ is very solid and stable.

Re: What is the future of Moho?

Yeah, I say hang in there too. I use a number of animation programs at home and at work, but Moho 12.4 is still my preferred tool for 2D puppet animation, and I'm feeling confident that the upcoming 13.5 will get Moho back on track to a brighter future.

Re: Moho 13 Bitmaps - Option to Embed internally

I tend to not include too much stuff within the file, maybe because of my bad experience with loading time in the past (all software)...Now the file's enormously large and doesn't open anymore!" So it also needs a button "Un-Embed image files", with a dialogue asking for a folder (or...

Re: Moho Plans

I use Ae for most of my Moho compositing at work, so I wouldn't mind seeing this. That said, there are dozens of other features and improvements I need more in Moho. (The devs know what they are so I won't bother listing here.) But it they decide to pursue this, I'd like it to be able to import the ...
