Re: Bezier handles in pro 13
Not sure that makes sense unless maybe you're running in Debut mode? (Edit: I see Synthsin75 beat me to that idea. :)) Normally, the buttons should appear when the tool is selected. Can you post a screen cap of what you're seeing? I may still have Moho 13 on my other computer. Will check that later.

Re: pan/translate a zoomed preview
I just saw your examples. Unlike Preview Animation, Ctrl-R does not render what's visible in the Workspace, it renders what the camera is seeing. If you're using Ctrl-R, you need to frame the image using the Track Camera tool so the character's head fills the blue box in the viewport. With the tool ...

Re: pan/translate a zoomed preview
BTW, be aware that Ctrl-R doesn't always render exactly the same result as the normal final quality renderer, so if it's really critical that you see exact results, you may want to do a single frame render with Moho Exporter or Export Animation. Most of the time, Ctrl-R is pretty close though.

Re: pan/translate a zoomed preview
Oh, I see. In a Ctrl-R render, I'm able to zoom with the mouse wheel and pan with the right mouse button. Clicking Restore Defaults will reset the view. If that's not working, you can access the image directly by clicking Render Cache and open the image with your preferred image viewer. (I use XnVie...

Re: pan/translate a zoomed preview
Or do you just mean the view in the workspace. You should be able to pan with the Right mouse, but you can also pan with the Pan tool, or you can press and hold the Space Bar to temporarily to pan with the Left mouse button. (Releasing the Space Bar returns you to the current selected tool.)

Re: pan/translate a zoomed preview
Do you mean the rendered Preview Animation video? That file should open in whichever player you have as the default video player application, and, assuming your video player allows you to zoom and pan, you would use it's native controls. (I just checked my default player, MPC-BE, and it doesn't appe...

Re: Bezier handles in pro 13
I think the Show Bezier and Fixed Bezier Handles buttons are only visible for Transform Points and Add Points. If you use Wes' handy mod , Show Bezier Handles also appears under Curvature. Sorry, I can't check this in Moho 13 now because I removed it (until 13.5 arrives), but I don't think this is a...

Re: Smart Actions (turns) point animation vs. layer transformation
One thing I really , REALLY want to achieve is LESS rigging. 100% agreed! I totally feel that way, especially after working on a show that seemed to require new character rigs with every episode. I'd love to spend more time animating than I do rigging. :) Moho's evolution made some of the features ...

Re: identifying bones in the timeline
First I thought the coloured bones will be a good guide what's happening, but as Greenlaw already wrote, the timeline becomes cluttered very quickly. Maybe I will just have one coloured bone active that I use a lot and for everything else either select a bone and look which keyframes appear in the ...

Re: identifying bones in the timeline
99% of the time, you only need to pay attention to the top white row channels and the red row channels immediately below. The top white rows shows you the keyframes for all the bones in the Bone layer. This is mainly useful for making global timing adjustments to that bone layer. (For example, to sp...

Re: Smart Actions (turns) point animation vs. layer transformation
I mostly use bone and point motion in my smart actions. Point motion just gives so much more control that layer transforms. It allows noses, eyes, mouths, etc. to change both perspective and shape. Probably overkill for a very cartoony style. Not at all. Almost everything I do is cartoony and I use...

Re: Smart Actions (turns) point animation vs. layer transformation
I use a lot of different techniques but there are certain practices I follow for most character rigs. For face elements in a head turn, I parent everything to a Face bone, and use this to move the face parts across the head. I also have child bones for moving both eyes together, each eye individuall...

Re: Cartoon Animator 4 (CT4)
I have used Cartoon Animator 4 in a few job projects for explainer videos, and for that purpose it's great, but as soon as you want to do anything custom it gets complicated and Moho really shines in that area. That's kinda how I felt after working with CA4 Pipeline for a couple of months. I still ...

Re: Best pose for rigging?
For production rigs, I may include a few demo poses in the first few frames to suggest the rig's posing possibilities, maybe even include them as Morph Actions. (But I don't think anyone actually uses these, so I don't bother anymore.) If it's a really complicated rig, I might create a short animati...

Re: Best pose for rigging?
Also if I'm making a sample rig for Moho ( for example) I want it to look good when it's loaded in so I'll rig to that pose, to please the eye of a new user. I prefer to put the demo pose in frame 1. To me, frame zero should be as neutral as possible to allow for more posing possibilities in later ...
