Time to give this jewel another chance?

We've talked about Howler before, but this incredibly cheap software is just about one of the most amazing creative jewels a digital artist can get. Take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7qQVzPo8Qo Yes, we've seen spinning spheres before, but it's so easy to create one and the effects you ca...

Re: Smartbones, adjusting points bug?

Thanks synthsin75. Yes, the issue seems pretty much the same. However, your suggested solution is the same Matt gave. The problem with that is, it only works as long as you don't add any more actions! If you do, the problem shows up again. It's like if things get messed up the moment I add "too...

Re: Smartbones, adjusting points bug?

It's not a bone parenting issue. Here's the reply from Smith Micro support team, Matt Ko: "I've been testing your file and I'm on the fence on whether this is a bug with the software or whether it's some unusual setup you have. I've found that the problem is caused by your EyesLeftRight smartbo...

Re: Smartbones, adjusting points bug?

Thanks funksmaname. I can't post it publicly, as it's part of a project, but there's no bone influence. I've submitted a ticket. I've just noticed that even if I try to adjust an item´s position using the x + y position, it moves somewhere else. I did create 3 smartbone actions without any problems,...

Smartbones, adjusting points bug?

Hi, I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm simply doing something wrong. I've added a couple of lever controlled actions to a character, using smartbones, and all went well. Then, when I tried to create a new one, I'm finding that when I create the action and proceed to modify the points, there's some...

Re: What do you think about the AS10 main characters?

I thought the characters were outstanding, best rigging (including 3d face turns!) ever for any AS characters that we've seen so far. However, in my case, being a beginner at AS, I found that I couldn't use them much for my own projects because of the clothing style, body type and so on. (I mean, I ...

Re: Advice on TV production

Thanks DK.

Yes, I know what motion blur is, I just wasn't aware that the motion blur effect that you can do with Anime studio is not "real" (for lack of a better adjective!) when compared to the motion blur effect that you can do with other programs.

Re: Advice on TV production

That's a very impressive workflow, Dk. Now, something in point 3 caugt my attention: 3: (...) For example, Anime Studio doesn't support real motion blur which is something I take care of in another program. I also prefer to do color correction and everything else in other programs as they're more ef...

Is this guy a genius or what?? +8 million hits.

I just watched an animation video on youtube that has left me open-mouthed for several minutes. Absolutely outstanding stuff. I guess most of you have already seen it, but if you haven't, I think it shows what a beautiful art Animation really is:

Re: How do I do anything? (How does an old timer use vers 10

I think the easiest way to get acquainted with the changes in version 10 is to go to youtube and search "anime studio 10" or "anime studio 10, what's new".
(I'm not trying to avoid the question, it's just that a few tutorials I've seen there are pretty good).

Re: Making Masking even more complicated (for me!)

Thanks a lot, synthsin75, your preferred option seems like a nice and clean way to go about it (first couple of testst were successful). Much appreciated! Thanks hayasidist, I'll have to experiment with that also, thanks very much for the suggestion! (the effect shown in your video is the one that I...

Making Masking even more complicated (for me!)

If masking itself wasn't complicated enough as it is (for me anyway!) I'm trying to do something a little unusual with it and I'm, well... stuck! :) Ok, so I've created the standard mask: Group. - image layer (an image which moves horizontally) - Vector layer (I drew a circle in it) All pretty norma...
