I am eager to download your avatar file, but the link you posted requires me to "take a survey" to unlock the download. I am not interested in giving any information to anyone just to download a file. I hope we will be able to access your avatar file some time in the future without such a ...

Thanks to everyone for all the great workarounds on making Layer Settings channels visible in the Timeline!!

I now have a much better understanding of how to work with blur, opacity, visibility, shadows, shading, etc. My process will be so much faster and simpler now.

I did not correctly understand your problem before. Opacity is set by double clicking on a Layer name. In the Layer Settings page that shows up you can make a layer visible or not visible and you can also set the opacity by percentage. After checking the manual, it seems that opacity settings only s...

Using your example: set a keyframe in frame #9 to 100% then set frame #20 to zero. The fade will begin on frame #10. I am relatively new to animation myself, but I think this is referred to as "setting a hold frame." It is used to keep any given animated element at its original state until...

Thanks for this great set of tools all located in one convenient spot. I will be referring to it a lot in the future.

I am already having great fun with the Snake Creeping Technique.

I do not use the Import method for adding audio files to an AS project. I bring sound files in while I am on frame #0 then using the drop-down menu in the Layers Palette I select "Audio." A browsing window opens and I navigate to my audio files, I click on the one I need and it is instantl...

I use bones to make the lips move around to form shapes that correspond to sounds (phonemes).

To move a cutout mouth up and down you do not need bones. Just use the Layer Translation tool to move the mouth layer up and down.

Hope this helps.

You can cut the mouth out and make it into a separate photo shape using Photoshop or another image editor. Then do a simple Jib-Jab style animation - the mouth moving like a ventriloquist's dummy. I have had some luck adding bones to a cutout mouth and animating it directly. This way it is possible ...

The above link at Smith Micro provides a script that can be dropped into Photoshop. Works great for saving files as PNGs and exporting them directly into Anime Studio. Maybe it will work with Photoshop Elements too.

Thanks for sharing your method. Makes great sense and is elegantly simple!
The ball demo is useful, but I can see how the layer structure will be very helpful in controlling the movements of any content. Can't wait to try it out.

Very nicely done. Inspires me to try something using similar techniques. Software is just a tool. There are countless ways to employ it depending on the needs, interests, and ingenuity of the user. I like the merging of graphic novel with subtle animation. My only criticism is that I wish the text was a bit easier to read. I like the use of text blocks - a great way to eliminate the need for voice actors. Also I think that the liquid being poured out of the bottle needs to turn darker when it ...

To avoid loss of clarity and contrast, I have had some luck using a slight sharpening effect plus a levels effect in After Effects before running the H.264 codec. Each project I have tried this on required its own unique sharpening and levels settings... one size did not fit all, but it was worth do...
