Hi! I'm very excited about this development. There are still only 4 bones controlling this model! The new bone setup allows the head to achieve even greater flexibility in it's rotations. It can be rotated in any direction now without any unwanted plane distortions to the vectors Also the new bone s...

What I like about this technique is that very little bones are required to make the rotation. I realise it is less powerfull than your springy mechanism rig, but a simpler option for the less tech savy. All thanks to muuvist :) for the initial idea. Genete is already expanding the horizons as always...

Hi Genete. Your re-done file is great! I also used a little translate bone to drag the eyes slightly over the edge of the head for each left and right profile. This is very interesting. I will continue to play with this technique to see how far it can go. http://www.errolgray.com.au/headturn3-mod.an...

3D head turn with simple bone technique
Here's an interesting but very simple technique for doing 3D rotating heads as long as they are simple shapes. I'm still playing with this but already using different shapes introduced by muuvist. ( see origami crocodile thread) http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=9 Here's my file http:/...

I just made a very simple head turn using this technique.
Looks like I can get a few different axis rotations using it too.
