Bones affecting groups within groups within groups

Hi all, I'm wondering if someone can help me out here - I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding bone usage, or if I need a scripting solution. Though I am a total AS noob, yes, I've done the tutorials, and yes I've searched the forums :). Part of my reason for posting is that I think I've discovered th...

And... after following up with them, the Tech support dude I spoke to said that he suspected it would only be a few weeks, but it was speculation, as he doesn't have access to the engineering timetable. Fair enough. I've gotta say - both emails I sent to Smith Micro Tech support were answered in a r...

Their response: "Anime Studio Pro 8 came out before Poser Pro 2012 did, and as such was not originally designed to work with Poser Pro 2012. However, an updater is in the works to make it compatible with Poser Pro 2012. Once it is available, you can access it at the Anime Studio updates page at...

Have you contacted Smith Micro with this? What error do you get, or is it just not working? Bonjour Giles, The error I get is: "This version of Poser is not supported by Anime Studio" I haven't yet told Smith Micro, but I will right now. I discovered this late last night. I'm still hoping...

Yeah...

"This version of Poser is not supported by Anime Studio".

Maybe there's an update I've missed or something. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions... I'll do some more research and report back, but in the meantime, it's looking like no.

Poser Pro 2012!!

Feature request... I am working on a series of shorts predominantly using AS PRO 8. I have been having trouble with a certain character and did some research into basic 3D programs as a possible solution. I was extremely excited to find out that Poser seems easy to use and best of all, integrates in...

Eye bones

Hi there, Wondering if someone can help me out here... I'm fairly new to this, so if there is an obvious answer somewhere, feel free to just nudge me in the right direction :) or even suggest ways to be more efficient. But my question is... I've got a character whose eyes are constructed as a group ...

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your answers, both of which make good sense. I should have mentioned that one of the things that has been causing me grief in this is the way that AS deals with text. I guess it makes sense as an animimation program, that it turns text into vector objects but i feel ...

Typing effect?

Hey all, 3rd noobish question in a week... have patience with me AS community :). What would people suggest as the best way to animate a 'typing' effect? I want a shot of a computer screen while a character is typing, each letter of text appearing in sequence after the other, much as it looks to me ...

Hi guys,

Thanks so much for your responses - I knew it wouldn't make sense to not be able to do this. At least I've already pre-apologized for my noonish question:).

This makes life so much easier!

Cheers,
Joel

Copying Actions? (or the best way to...)

Hi All, Like every post I'll be making over the next little while, let me start by saying "Sorry if this is majorly Noobish". Is there a way to copy actions? I am working on a fairly complex character that is mostly made of 3D objects. Because of this, some things are super easy, head turn...

Hi there, Thanks for this. After some playing around, I actually found a great solution for this problem using a path layer. Basically, I created the tread in side view (looks like a square wave) and extruded it in to a 3d shape - essentially creating a 'broken' tread. Then, I simply had that follow...

Masking with 3D objects?

Hi all, I'm admittedly a noob at this so apologies in advance... Can one create a mask using an extruded 3D object? I have finally grasped masking and seem to be able to do it with 2D layers, but I'm struggling to make it happen with a 3D layer. More specifically, I've created what is basically a ta...
