Re: Dynamically Pin One Object to Another Object

Yeah, if it were a moving object like a trapeze it would be more complicated, but perhaps not impossible. Try this: Your forearm bone is targeted to the hand bone. The trapeze bone is targeted to the trapeze target bone. BOTH of the target bones have the same parent bone. NOTE: The parent bone sits ...

Re: Dynamically Pin One Object to Another Object

Actually, thinking about it more, it could depend on how complicated your scene is. One other way to accomplish this is to use the target bones on your hands. If your target bones are child bones of bones connected to the objects you want them to grab then you just move the hand bone to the object, ...

Re: Dynamically Pin One Object to Another Object

There aren't really any easy ways to do this with a single object. Mostly those cases require having two identical objects, one attached to the character and one that's not, and using opacity and some sleight of hand to switch between them. If you really had to have a single object switch parents yo...

Re: Anime Studio 10.1.3 Update Available

Wow, how did we go from an outdated build log in a recent software update (just last week in fact) to 'dead software'? G. I think we were referring to a software update being tossed over the wall, with no fixes to the outdated build log for a week. Even when people keep asking and PMing for a fix. ...

Re: Anime Studio 10.1.3 Update Available

That all? Half year waiting for "hotfix"? How about big release? That sounds like a dead software.... or: What are we to make of this? Do you really think this is a possibility? I guess it seems there has been very little interaction from the team as of late, but I don't know how to judge...

Re: What would you like to see in 10.5/11?

ADVANCED CHARACTER CONTROLS Since bones have now evolved into character controls, we need a way to create more clean/intuitive character controls with them. So, the ability to assign vector/raster images to bones and allow the user to grab those instead of the bones. That way we can create nice cont...

Re: What would you like to see in 10.5/11?

Small things: 1. Rounded stroke joints on sharp corners. (Right now they are crunchy.) THEN add the option for sharp or chamfered stroke corners too. 2. The ability to separate the camera xyz dimensions to keyframe them separately. 3. Make an 'everything' channel, so I can see where keyframes are in...

Re: export png from AS to after effects help

I guess it depends on what you're asking. You can use a png sequence to get stuff to AE with an alpha. For an intermediate video codec for high quality editing/delivery that ALSO supports alpha, I've heard Avid DNxHD is really good and free (I'm on a Mac, but some Windows users on other forums swear...

Re: Hello ASP World!

You said not to pull punches. It looks like you're trying to present a solution to a problem for a tech company in a concise, entertaining way. The part that puzzled me was the 'strike force' loads their weapons with tee-shirts and heads to a playground that has litter on the ground. What was the c...

Hello ASP World!

122349671 Hi everyone. This is my most recently finished project. I just finished it this weekend. Please critique if you please, and pull no punches. I worry that the worst thing about the video is that it is boring. Let me know! I'll take all your comments to heart. Also, I've been posting a lot ...

Re: Advice on TV production

(I don't think R+H had a branch in Florida.) Oh sorry. I think I assumed Rhythm and Hues was in the same location as Digital Domain. I'm not sure how much is left in Florida since DD closed. The best things since leaving Rhythm for me is that I now have more time to spend with my family and I'm sta...

Re: Advice on TV production

Curses, I was actually excited to go download Fusion but I forgot that it's windows only for now. They've been saying a mac version is on its way but who knows when it will drop. I lean heavily on AE because I'm coming from the motion graphics world where AE is the standard. Like Greenlaw said, sinc...
