Is there a way to create an action from a keyframe?
I'm trying to build heads of different characters, and I'm creating actions for different stages of head turns. Now my thought was that to create different characters I could paste the actions of the different head poses of one character on different keyframes on the main timeline, and then use the ...

Re: Animation Test of eye movement...
I think it looks great. I disagree with the above comment about the specular highlight in the eyes. In my opinion in reality it should remain static as the eyes move, as it's the eyes which are moving, not the light source. Not that it should necessarily look realistic, as it's not reality it's a ca...

Re: many many actions in a single bone control lever
Hi aji, I'm currently working on a head turn by applying smart bone actions. From what I've experienced so far, to have a single smart bone control both horizontal AND vertical movements, I doubt it. But I'm sure that some bright spark here may well prove how it's possible in the future as I'm const...

Re: Can you add existing actions to a new smart bone control
Thanks. I was on the right lines but I was struggling because after I'd extended my smart bone timeline to accommodate space for the inserted intermediate action I wanted to put in, I'd get a sudden jump to the final keyframe when I tried out my smart bone. I sorted it out though. My problem was tha...

Re: Can you add existing actions to a new smart bone control
Thanks for the link. Funny thing is I just watched that a few minutes before I saw your reply. However it did lead me on to where Selgin posted something in another thread which helped solve my issue. I had to select a nested layer and then from the main menu's bone menu select 'Bone > Release layer...

Can you add existing actions to a new smart bone control?
I'm trying to figure out how to apply existing actions to a new smart bone. I understand how you can create a smart bone and then move points around so that a new action is created which is controlled by the smart bone. But I'm trying to convert an old file I'm playing with which is based on actions...

Re: use the same animation movement
You might find this useful to watch. It's a little tutorial I remember by Funksmaname where he deals with precisely the very thing you're speaking about, from about 6 minutes in. He uses the Morphdials plugin, but nowadays you can use the suggestions others have mentioned here, such as blendmorphs, ...

Thanks for sharing. Beautiful work.
Maybe somebody could fix your audio for you?
It's a shame that the audio isn't clear, but I did get the jist of it.
It was very clever how you made the right eye seamlessly appear as though it was one smooth movement..

Thanks for this script. It's very useful.
So do most of you animators use this script to lock feet when animating walk and run cycles?

Re: Switch layers smooth transition & stopping the walk cycl
Very clever neeters_guy.
I see that matching up the arm position and their motion takes your eye away from the switch of the body taking place.
It's that overlap of motions which masks what's going on so effectively.

Re: Add point in point animation (and some more)
Thanks funksmaname, that was very informative. I've just tried it out and it works great. I may as well take the opportunity to also thank you for all the informative posts and videos you've made before as well. As I've been a lurker for a while and have learned a lot just from watching some of the ...

Hi guys, first post here.
These are great scripts ponysmasher. Thank You.
But do any of these scripts work with AS 9?
Are there any updates planned for these scripts?
These scripts would be a pleasure to use alongside AS 9's smart bones.
