I think I remember reading that depth of field is a Pro only feature. If you don't see those options in the camera settings then it's probably not in Debut. However, if the "blur" effect is available you can still simulate depth effects by varying the level of blur on layers based on their...

The one weak part that really stuck out to me was the muted flat colors in the 3d bar spinning matrix style camera sequence, but maybe you were deliberately imitating the look of a particular game? Either way, the dull grayish tones/lighting didn't work for me, especially since that scene seemed des...

For the soundtrack I would probably use superhero music, cute children's music, or maybe something classical depending on the mood you're going for.

That Lady Gaga is the most realistic looking drawing I've ever seen done in Anime Studio.

Huge step up over the cutouts spooze. Shocking.

I use AS the same way you do, "rotoscoping" over my fbf roughs. You get the best of both worlds, AS's shape tween/morphing and traditional fbf. Although with complicated shape transitions I lean more towards fbf than tween.

sbtamu, lostmarble is owned by Mike Clifton, the creator of AS, and is oddly the "unofficial" AS forum for SmithMicro, tho I don't think an official AS forum exists.

Hey funk, yeah tablets for drawing can't be beat. But I have a confession: I've never used a tablet with AS ever. I agree with both you and neeters about tablets and AS not mixing(or at least not for the way I work with AS), I use a mouse and keyboard myself, but in other drawing programs it's all t...

I used to lust after the wacom cintiques but not anymore. They come with a thick glass screen which causes parallax between the pen and cursor when drawing, and they're not portable like tablet pcs. I read about the HP tablet, and Asus will be rolling out their own version , the ep121, which runs on...

There are really just two things I focus on in my animation: key poses and timing. You have good key poses, that is the hardest part to get right in my opinion. A good way to tell if your key poses are working is if they animate and read well without any inbetweens, which is the case in your earlier...

While I generally prefer designing in other programs, I think you're making a strong case to do it all in Anime Studio. Very nice artwork, it's rare to find someone who can both teach and draw well at the same time.

Judging by the trailer, the tone of this movie is very different from the series, less humor, more drama/action. I prefer your action/drama stuff so look forward to seeing the movie. The art keeps getting better too.

Hi ulrik, I think you might be right, children are very observant. I remember drawing a portrait of my mom long ago, and my little brother, who was only six at the time, said "That doesn't look like mommy!" Of course he couldn't tell me how to make it look more like mommy, but he knew when...

I remember seeing your banjo guy and look forward to seeing how this turns out. Many people avoid backgrounds(myself included), so it's good to see the kind of attention you're putting into it.
