Classic Animation Books

Post by neeters_guy »

Some of you may have already seen this, but I couldn't help pass along this Cartoon Brew link to a treasure trove of animation knowledge.

Rare Animation Books and Interviews on Archive.org

Free archive (scanned) pdfs include:

Design in Motion
by John Halas and Roger Manvell

How to Cartoon for Amateur Films
by John Halas and Bob Privett

Animation Art in the Commercial Film
by Eli Levitan

These books are from 1950-60, but the principles never change. Well worth a read.
