Hi again,

Any chance of an update for 9.5?

Especially the lost layer tool, I get some lua errors every now and then, but still use it a lot anyway.

Hi, Lukas and sorry for all the mess, ideally... some day I'll be able (to be able) to manage all this things as I should...

Anyway, and straight to the point, are (by chance) something like follows the kind of Lua Console errors you are experiencing?:

Code: Select all

...Anime Studio Pro\scripts\tool\rl_lost_layer_tool.lua:2227:error in function 'SetValue'.
argument #3 is 'nil' ; '[no object]' expected.

There could be more, but that's what I'm getting in my tries with the last "official" release of the tool (v20100708_1931_rc2) on Windows 7 and Anime Studio Pro 9.5. FYI, it uses to happen when a non Vector layer (Image, Audio or 3D, for example) is selected in palette.

Well... it's complicated to me to face up bigger tool changes right now due to the way I used to manage this projects (and specially this one) in the past but, in that precise error case, I think I can make a quick & dirty fix and upload it here for the moment, and see if we can avoid at least as much Lua Console errors as possible. Greetings.

PS: Besides all that... hmmm, I think I'm a little surprised you still find this precise tool useful since last Anime Studio improvements on Layer settings management by its now modeless "Layer Settings" window and Layers palette RMB direct masking access and mode indicators :o

Anyway, here is the direct link to the file I've been (or I hope so) fixing:

This is only the lua file, as nothing else required changes to be made. Just overwrite the old one in the "scripts/tool" folder (previous backup just in case) and... well, that's all for now. Just, let me know whatever you consider appropriate.

Greetings,
Ramón López.

I have 9.5 and still use your Lost Layer tool.
I use the mouse capture feature a lot.

Thanks for the update!

Cool, thanks!

I use it mostly for quick acces to the masking settings, I like how you can change the settings of a layer without having to set the group to 'hide/reveal' first etc. Also for some rigs with complicated masks I sometimes have to set layers to 'add to mask' without using masking on the group they are in (it's weird, but it works). And I like how you can easily set a layer to invisible (the keyframeable one).

Well thanks to all of you for the feedback! It's good to know... About the tool itself, lets see is any other issue arises for a period of time and, if that's not the case, I think I could update the download links with a fixed version at least. Greetings!
