newB's head comes off

Post by Craigar »

Hello All,
I have a character made up of individual images. I have all the bones working right accept for one: the head bone (a group layer).

The head becomes detached when I move the torso.
Let me tell you more about the head. The head is the only part that is not just a plain image. It's a group layer, comprised of the head image, and all mouth images (mouths are altogether in a switch layer).

So, like I said, when I manipulate the bones everything works properly accept for the head. I can swivel the head properly on the torso, but when I swivel the torso, the head doesn't move with it (becomes detached).
So what's this newB obviously missing, huh?
Thanks,
Craig

ps. i swear I'll be an aniMAYTOr soon!

Did you actually attach the head group layer to a specific bone?

You will need to do this -- in that group layer, on frame 0, select the Bind Layer tool and then select the head bone. This will make sure that head bone is attached to that layer.

thanks, Mr MK.
I think I just got it figured out.. sort of.
I mean all I did was unparent and reparent the bone (to the same torso bone) and now it seems to be fine.
I don't know but it just now got resolved.
