Field with flowers

Hello everybody!
I'm having a lot of fun with my favorite software Anime Studio again!
I'm trying to make an animation with a field of grass with flowers. I've made the camera fly over this field. I hope this will be a very nice effect.
I rendered the scene out first without any effects, and that looks like this:
http://www.flashanimatie.com/projects/b ... oppies.mov
The rendering was pretty fast.
Then, I wanted to render it with blur. This looks MUCH nicer!! I REALLY like the effect.
But... The rendering time is very, very slow... My computer has been rendering all night to render only 6 frames. My animation is 250 frames, so this will take much too long to render. My complete animation has to be finished at the end of next week...
Is there any way to fasten up the rendering process? Maybe you have some tips / advice? Is there a way to use the "non blurred" render and let another software package (like Adobe After Effects) do the exact same blurring based on depth (is there a way in AS to export for example "mask layers" for this)?
I have not yet upgraded to the newest version of Anime Studio, I'm still using Anime Studio 5. Is the rendering in the newest version of Anime Studio (a lot) quicker? Would it help to upgrade for this specific project? Would the newest version render this project faster?
Maybe I'm doing something wrong. My (very heavy to start up because of the huge amount of particles) Anime Studio project can be downloaded here:

Maybe somebody can give me advice. Of course, using less particles would speed everything up, but I found that that doesn't look right. I'm really happy with the scene as it is now.
I hope somebody can take a look and maybe give me advice on this specific animation. Thanks a LOT in advance! Your help is really appreciated.
