Join .vobs for buring DVDs?

Post by sbtamu »

I have some old Animations I did that I converted and burned to DVD but I no longer have the DVDs on my computer from the original render.

My problem is when I import the DVDs to my PC I get 5 or so .vob files that play fine when I use a player on my pc to play them but when I go to burn them, all my burning software will not read all of them and I am only getting parts to actually get burned.

If I take the parts that are not getting burned and convert them to another format then import all the parts to the burning software I get everything to burn right.

Is there anyway to copy the DVD from disc to my PC in one .vob? They seem to top out at 1 gb. Or are there any free software that will take all 5 .vobs and combine them into one? I have tried to find some free software that I think will do this but I'm not sure, also, all the sites want to add tool bars to my browsers.

Thanks!

Stephen

Thanks! It seems you found the same one I did. :D :D :D

I found this one about an hr ago that works and is real easy to use.

It is called ''Join VOB Files Tool.''

If someone would now explain to me why DVDs are broken down into 1 GB .vods I would greatly appreciate it. :D :D :D :D :D

God knows. Despite being a software developer for 15+ years I have to confess that I only ripped my first DVD recently so I could watch it on my very tedious train journey. How embarrassing
