Strokes on lines

Post by jercook@comcast.net »

When creating artwork, if I use the addpoint tool to create unclosed lines, I can't get a stroke applied to them. If I close the line into a shape, both fill and stroke appear. I just upgraded to 10.1.1 pro. I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. If I use the freehand tool, I get strokes immediately but it is often better to have less erratic lines.

Any help will be appreciated. I'm sure I am not following some required procedure.

When you're creating an open path using the Add Points tool, you need to create the stroke shape (the visible 'line') manually. Select the path using the Create Shape tool, then press Space Bar.

Also, normally, you need to be on frame zero to be able to do this. (You can override this behavior but it's not recommended unless you really know what you're doing.)
