Hi--
I'm pretty new to AS, but a long-time Flash animator and am jazzed about some *real* character anim tools to play with!
As I'm building characters, I'm wondering the best way to deal with head turns and lip syncs. I've seen the tutes on head turns and it's basically moving points with some masking, but what if I need to animate the mouth as it turns? Do I need to set up a different set of switch layers with the new positions?
My end result is something like the King of the Hill style: realistic features, not too cartoony. If you're familiar with the show, you'll see how the characters mouths appear in profile:

Is this possible? Are switch layers the best for this or smartbones?
Any guidance is appreciated. Thank you!
Edit: If it's helpful, I'm using AS11 Pro.

Re: head turn with lip sync
That looks interesting. I see reference layers are new in version 11 so I need to do some research. Thank you!
