Reuse Assets (Libraries)?

Post by hano »

Hello, I presume this is a simple one for you guys.

so let's assume I created a character.

I want to use the hand switch layer I created for it in another character?

How do I go on with doing this?

Highlight and "copy layer" (individual layer or group/switch/bone) under the edit menu from the 1st character and then do a "paste layer" into the new character in the appropriate layer order location.

Thanks, but I think there's a more elegant way to do it by doing as you said by making a new file with only the hand layer and then save it as a library.

Absolutely, adding something you will use more than once can be added to your Custom Content Folder in the Library - I do that a lot. I guess I thought you were looking for a one-time solution to copy something from one character/file to a different character/file. Both are good ways of reusing the same asset - just depends on how often you need to reuse it, I guess.
