What font format are they?
OTF (OpenType).
TTF (TrueType).
SVG.
EOT (Embedded Open Type).
WOFF (Web Open Font Format).

Hi Chucky and all,

Has this issue been raised as a bug to SmithMicro?

I realize this thread has gone cold, but I have observed the same problems with respect to Fonts not showing up. I am using Moho Pro 13 and have uploaded a few fonts to my Windows 10 system. They show up OK in other applications (e.g. Microsoft Office apps, Affinity Designer, Corel Painter) but they do not appear to be available in Moho Pro. Puzzling. Is it possible that Moho takes a "snapshot" of available system fonts at the time of installation and does not update the list as new fonts are uploaded to the system? In any case, this should be flagged as a bug...it may be an easy fix and a solution is important to those of us who need specific fonts in our animations.

Yeah, I'm just not seeing this one.
There's no information being shared about fonts or OS or font management systems.
I regularly put new fonts in and have added several over the last few weeks.
No problems here.

I know the developers were looking into this issue (see my earlier post) but I don't think it's been fixed yet.

I don't use fonts inside Moho very often but, as reported, there are some fonts that still don't appear on my computer for no apparent reason. It doesn't matter if I'm using a font manager or just regular Windows, commercial or homemade fonts...some fonts just don't show up. It's very puzzling. For the time being, I'd set my type that needs a missing font in another program and import it.

When I get a chance, I'll ask about this again.

I don't use text in Moho much but just yesterday had a problem not being able to select a particular font.
For what it's worth, I encountered the bug in Moho Pro 12.4 which I'd been using for compatibility purposes; however, when I tested in Moho Pro 13.0.2 there was no bug -- the font showed up in the Select Font list as I would expect.

It's been awhile and since Moho is in active development again, I thought to check on the status of the missing fonts problem.

Sadly, in Moho 13.5.1, many installed fonts that show up in other programs still do not show up in Moho.

I don't have time to look into this problem today but will try later this week to find anything new that might help the devs figure this problem out.

Hello friends!
So I had the same problem with the fonts in windows.
I managed to reveal the fonts that were not working.
It's very simple, in windows you just have to install the fonts for all users.

I don't know if this will solve your problems, but on my side it worked.

See you soon. :D

To refresh your fonts list in Moho = Ctrl + Shift + L

THAT WORKED!!! I had actually wondered about that option.... There's no way I can find to 'install for all users' from the font folder after a font is already installed if you don't have the original files, so that is a bummer, but if you reinstall them for all users it works. I'm on windows 11. THANKS!

Hello, how are you?
I may have a solution that will suit your request.
As soon as you have installed a font, you will be able to find all your installations in this folder:

C:\Users\Your Account\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts

You will then have the possibility of making again
the installation for all users. Attention the file AppData is hidden it is necessary to make it visible.
I hope I have helped you. :D

Hi guys,

I have a font related issue, and can't figure out how to create a new post - so thought this might be the best place to write. :D

After downloading and installing a new font, I restart Moho. Yet, some fonts, whether text file or layer file, come out all weird and wonky.
Round letters will have clunky sides and sometimes parts of a letter seems to be outside the text.

Anyone else who's had this issue?

What's the font and where did it come from? In general, I haven't see the problem, so my guess is the problem may be with that specific font file. If it's a free file or there is a demo version, I could check it out here.

An idea: If you have a font editor, maybe you could try re-saving it or saving it in another format.

It's called Urbane (bold) and I don't believe it's free, sadly.
A client sent it to me for his video.

It looks perfect when used in other software such as pages, photoshop etc.
But not here. Look at the 'e', and how it's not round. :?

What do you mean by text editor? :)

Another alternative is to use Illustrator / Affinity to create the required Text in the font and then export as SVG (with option to convert text to Paths) and then import as vector into Moho.

I found that I lose too much time fiddling and correcting text appearance in Moho, so I just render the text I need in Photoshop and import as PNG. I only use the text tool in Moho when I need some animated property, like a boiling text outline.
