Sync is slipping when imported into Anime Studio Pro

I did about 90 seconds of script in papagayo and sync-ed up perfectly.

I imported the switch file and audio file into ASP.

I notice at one point maybe 40 seconds in, it just slips like a full second or two.

If I stop and play it FROM :40, it seems ok. It's like if ASP plays for more than 30 seconds it starts to slip.

Anyone else notice this before or is it me?

Yes, I've noticed this. It is a problem in AS. This also happens with separate audio layers. They will lag behind over time and lose sync. As a temporary solution I will only preview small sections at a time so the sync is correct with my animation. if I preview a long animation I will stop the playback and restart every so often to "resync".

Final renders are NOT out of sync. Final renders are good to go. It's only real time playback that is effected.

Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Hm.

My final renders are out of sync and that's what's driving me kinda crazy, and it's a deal breaker.

I wonder if there's something messed up with frame rates or something? I've checked the individual keyframes completely. It's perfect.

I noticed that later on in the animation it syncs up again for a bit, then falls out again.

Any thoughts??

Maybe it depends on the size or length of the file? Or the number of audio layers? I've done a few fairly long animations (around a minute or so) with sound and have had no problems with sync. The only time I have sync issues is in AS itself. The renders appear to be in sync.

Man, I dunno. It just seems like it's off-setting groups of keyframes.

Vern: Is this a problem only with AS6? Doesn't appear in AS5? Thanks.

Yes, this is only in AS 6. It seems that maybe the real time playback in AS is actually effecting renders as well. Maybe the animation has to be long enough that the slight "drift" becomes more noticeable?

only one way to know for sure. Anyone else doing Papagayo->AS6 lip-sync for renders longer than 45 seconds?

I'll do another test, but it take so long...

testing shows it's the keyframes?

Just wanted to let y'all know:

I imported the .dat from papagayo into THORN, the default character.

The lip sync slips in the exact same places. ???????

So, it's like the keyframes are messed up.

I have done a visual inspection of the key frames in AS for each phrase and they're fine. Totally in the right place.

Something in the playback timing is messed up. BUG.

Just realized that my source audio is 96k 24bit. Will retest with 44.1k/16.

Likely that the downsampling component of AS wasn't able to keep up.

Will run the test again with 44k source and advise.

Are you certain that the FPS of papagayo and the FPS of the AS file are the same? If you create a papagayo dat file and the papagayo file is a different FPS then it will be "off" in the AS file with the audio.

I have made that mistake many times.

Issue Resolved : 96KHz/24bit Audio Source No Workies.

AS will LET you import audio that is hi-fidelity (96KHz/24Bit) but upon playback or render it doesn't downsample it correctly. The result is that the audio (probably not the actual timeline animation) slips occasionally.

AS Audio Import should ONLY allow 44.1KHz/16bit import to safeguard this, but as long as your source files are not hi-fi you're ok.
