I think I may be experiencing the same thing :?:

I have AS on an iMac, a SurfacePro3, and a desktop PC. The PC desktop is the newest and beefiest of the 3, but dragging keys in the timeline is painfully slow (with the included dragon character for example). Also - Using sticky keys for shortcuts (holding key to toggle tool until released) has very laggy behavior. There is no lag when completely switching to the tools. I'm referring to holding keys like T, C, and W.

I had actually started liking AS's drawing tools, but the laggy sticky keys are hampering my workflow quite a bit :(

EDIT: The PC having the issues has an NVidia 750 Ti, fwiw.

How is it on the iMac and Surface pro? Is it any better there? Are you using dynamics in the scene? Just trying to narrow down where the problem might be.

As mentioned last week, Timeline interactivity seems to be fine on my Windows desktop at work but I need to set up a comparable test scene for it to be sure. (I occasionally use dynamics in scenes at work but haven't relied heavily on it there yet.)

Sorry, Mike, I didn't get to try my own 'trouble' scene on my Wacom tablet computer this weekend but I have it on a portable drive so I'll see if I can test that during lunch today.

Sorry, Greenlaw. I should have said there's no lag on the Surface Pro or the iMac. As a benchmark of sorts, I loaded the AS11 Dragon from the library into a new empty scene on all 3 machines... I had tried disabling Bone Dynamics in the animation menu, but id didn't seem to make a difference.

I had been using primarily the iMac (office computer), and just starting to use the Desktop PC (home computer) more... I just tried the dragon scene again on the PC, and the keys are not lagging nearly as much, now. I can't seem to replicate it, but will try again tonight.

HOWEVER, the lag with sticky keys is no better at all.

Thanks for your thoughts on this :)
And i don't mean to hijack your thread, Dodgy. So I'll start another one if it starts looking like we have separate issues.

EDIT:
The Surface Pro has the same sticky key behavior when using an external keyboard. It does not when using the Tablet Pro on-screen shortcut bar.... Hiding the Layers, Style, and Timeline fixes the issue on both PC's. My mac does not have this problem.

All good Fuz, maybe it'll prove to be the same problem... Or maybe not...

This has to be a long shot, Dodgy :? but you might try toggling off all panels (window menu) other than timeline. Not that working like that is an option, but might help diagnose the problem if that helps(?)

Turning off all panels other than "tools" allows sticky keys to work without lag. As bizarre as that sounds. Don't know why it would only matter on this machine.

I may be starting a new thread, but will post back here if I stumble across anything that may help... Good luck :)
