Ability to "reference" Anime Studio files

Post by JubbaTheHott »

I know this won't be a useful feature for many people for a variety of reasons, but it WOULD be useful for some people in some cases.

The ability to reference one .anme file into another, second, .anme file the same way that a program like Maya references files would be a huge time saver in productions where many people are using the same character/set rigs across many scene files. The ability to make a single change in a master file that would be reflected across all files using that particular rig would save the trouble of importing the new changes into each scene file.

I'm not suggesting that this should replace the current "import" option but, rather, exist as a separate option, with the caveat that users do so at their own risk. An option to later convert a referenced file into an embedded/imported version would be a great companion to this idea, in case some drastic rig changes need to be made on a scene-specific basis.

Please and thanks. :)
