A way to resize the point bone

Post by goloops@gmail.com »

I hope to have a way to resize the display size of the point bone so that they will not cover up the whole character when their size is too small.

YES there is....
I think this is it... someone else might correct me if there's a better one.
Unfortunately it works on frame 1 not zero as far as I know.

GO to frame 1 scale the bone ( not length) and voila.
Not the most elegant but it's what we have right now.

Unless there's a better way , which would be great....

well it is different from setting the default size of the pin bone. To scale it at frame 1 is more for animation rather than for rigging a character. i hope next update should allow us to set the default size of the pin bone.

I like to believe that what you *meant* to say was "thanks for the workaround -- maybe this could go on the list of feature requests for the next upgrade"
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Look, a solution I just discovered is at frame zero select zoom camera before creating anything on the screen and change it from 30 to 50 or 60. That way all the pinbones will be smaller.

If you're doing any camera animation, you probably don't want to use it to resize pin bones, as it could have some nasty consequences later.

scale is not good idea. because it scales anything is bound to it.

I don't see a problem as everything becomes relative to frame zero. If you animate in the future, you'll start from that premise of 50 or 60 Fov. It's all just a matter of the lens and on the Moho there are no distortions.

Changing the camera zoom will affect things like parallax.

Be careful with the zoom.
The wider ( zoomed out) it is , the more distortions and overreaction you will get when panning or moving the camera , or even putting objects near the edge of screen.
It is much the same as any 3d or real life camera, except it does not curve into a fisheye at super wide.
Translating the camera back and zooming in is normally safest unless you want to go bonkers for a good reason.
