Color Points

When points are colored in a triangulated mesh, the color will not render, even when the 'don't render this layer' button is unchecked in the Layers drop down menu. This could be a useful tool for shading .png images that are tied to the meshes. Image

Colored points only affect the vector shapes that include them.
A smart mesh only masks and warps an assigned image layer. Other vector effects do not affect the layer it warps.

try this:

1: note that using the "triangulate" command applies fills with low alpha - make that higher (e.g. 100%!) with the base colour(s) that you want. Plenty of ways to do that - or my "shape" tool will give you options for regular triangulation meshes with a fill of your choice: https://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewto ... 12&t=29621

2: apply point colour as you wish.

3: make your base image greyscale centred on x808080

4: set up so the mesh is masked by the image e.g.
group - masking: hide all
> warp mesh - mask this layer
> greyscale image - add to mask

5: set the image to be warped by the mesh -- NOTE that setting this option appears to cause the "do not render" option to be set

6: clear the "do not render" option and set the blend mode to "overlay".

Voila - the mesh colour is applied to the image.

Plus any variation you choose on that theme - e.g. a coloured image with an x808080 mesh / blend mode overlay leaves the colour unchanged; point / fill colours in some of the mesh will blend-overlay that colour on the image -- e.g. light grey overlay fills (e.g. xA0A0A0) lighten the area; etc etc ..

Wow, that's a neat trick, Paul. Thanks!

These scripts intalled easily on a Macbook Pro. Goto Scripts dropdown, 'install script' and choose folder. Easy-peasy. Thank you hayasidist

But then again, ... Points colored on an 808080 greyscale image, then triangulated do show color but only on the stroke. I was looking for something more akin to an airbrush effect. Like a diffusion of color that would be similar to a point colored on a vector image, dang.

triangulated (Draw / triangulate 2d mesh) will give you **low alpha** fills, so you won't see much of an effect....

If you increase the alpha of the relevant fill shapes (and chose a good base colour), what you're doing should work for you. If you fix the fill / alpha and it's still not doing what you want, please upload the "problem" file ...

In this example I cannot color points as they relate to this raster image, ... Any insight would be appreciated. If this cannot be done, it might make a good creature/feature request. !?! Image

points, by definition, are on vector layers not on raster / bitmap layers.

if you follow the instructions in posting.php?mode=reply&f=3&t=32308#pr184503 you can adjust the image colours as shown in this crude example (I have used the "variation" given at the end of the post - greyscale mesh with coloured points over the coloured image): http://www.mediafire.com/file/7w4go9sgasjundp/bees.moho
