Post by Michi » Wed Jun 03, 2015 6:29 pm

Anime Studio 11 New Features Overview

Get a look at the exciting new features in Anime Studio 11 in this 1-hour webinar presented by Mike Clifton and Jason Cozy of the Anime Studio Team. Mike will show you how you can now do frame by frame animation in Anime Studio! He will also show you workflow game changers such as Layer Referencing, Animated Bone Targets and Animated Bone Parenting and when you can use them. See how changing the layer order of shapes in a single vector layer over time is now easy and how you can now flip a bone mid-animation allowing you to change an effect at any time. See all of this and more! The webinar concludes with a Q & A session where questions are answered. Originally Recorded on June 2, 2015

Thanks Matt! We're planning for the webinar to be next Wednesday at 3:00PM PDT. It will be an overview of fbf in ASP 11. I'm working on getting it set up now and hope to have registration live by tomorrow. Hope to see you there!

At about the 1 hour mark there is an example of using point colors to simulate lighting. Any chance you could let us know how that's done? It looked like you had points inside an object but I couldn't get that to work.

if you turn off auto stroke and fill, create the box and the points you'll want inside for lighting. Select them all and create a shape (even though they aren't connected they are now part of the same fill.

Fill the shape with black, and give the points independent colours.

Oh that is cool, you can get some masking like effects without a mask. Nice!

funksmaname's instructions are exactly right, but if you want a more detailed tutorial about how to create simulated lighting effects, here's a quick video I recorded:

You're very welcome. And thank you (all of you): It's a privilege to work for many years on something you really care about.

Well, I can't really afford to upgrade to 11, but now I have upgrade envy...!
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
