Moho 12.4 Update

Post by jmartins »

Hey guys,

Release 12.4 of Moho is now live for everyone. There are a few feature enhancements:
  • Muted channels: muted channels now have a more accurate icon to give a more understandable visual feedback. (Enhancement #38698)
  • Resynch all channels: an option was added to resynch all broken channels from given layer.
  • The recent files list no longer shows unecessarily used space, and only shows the actual files. (Enhancement #39518)
  • The user can now save the project directly to the templates file without navigating to it. (Enhancement #39510)
  • Triangulated mesh layers now have a distinct layer icon for easy distinction. (Enhancement #38329)
  • Paths can now be removed from the Export To list as to diminish the clutter on the menu. (Enhancement #38574)
And some bug fixes:
  • Fixed bug #39562 - menus can now be closed by clicking outside of them.
  • Fixed bug #39577 - copy and paste no longer greys out while changing between open files.
  • Fixed bug #34040 - the open file folder no longer keeps locked after a crash.
  • Fixed bug #38665 - the window will suddenly lose focus on windows when autosaving, but the focus will be quickly recovered after the autosave is terminated
  • Fixed bug #33287 - cut is again available when pasting from internal clipboard.
  • Fixed bug #39489 - the inserting of actions on frame 0 on Mainline enabling and disabling is now correct
Also, the GPU accel is now OFF by default, as it was generating some issues for a few users, and the nested switch layer interpolation being one of the affected features.

Give us your feedback.

found something odd. You know how it's supposed to change the layer icon in the layer's panel when u triangulate shapes? If you have a 3 point shaped, or multiple 3 shapes filled ONLY, then the icon change to the to the triangulate shape icon. They can even be curved.

Any vector layer composed solely of triangles is triangulated.

yeah - you don't need to run "triangulate" to create a smart mesh - anything that you draw that's filled triangles only will work. (e.g. my shape tool has options for a regular triangulated meshes http://lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=29621)

One odd thing I didn't notice in 12.3: When creating an action, using the Alt key to split and pull on a bezier curve makes the handles disappear from view. They still work and I see how the shape is being changed, so it's just a minor irritation. It doesn't happen on the main timeline. Just due to my old computer?

I noted when it was downloaded via the usual means, via the program itself... It went through the download, and even to the install sheild segment asking if i wanted to run it, pressed yes, didn't do anything after that...
Is the updater itself broken or just that method of delivery?

I had to try twice, Moho has to stay open until nearly half a Gigabyte is downloaded. I much prefer the previous system of completely downloading the installation files. That way I only needed one download for both computers and could also make a backup copy. Since the software can't run without a valid serial number that is checked online, I don't understand this distrust of the customer.

At least on Windows 8, you can check the details when it asks you if you want to allow the installer to make changes, and this shows you where the installer was downloaded to. I cancelled the automatic install, copied the installer to another folder, and installed from there.

Thanks for that tip, I'll try that on the other computer. A backup is always good if you need to install an earlier version - I think it's better than having 12.1, 12.2, 12.3 and 12.4 all installed on my computer.

Yeah, I usually have the last major version (11.2) installed with the latest version (12.4), but I always like the ability to roll back to 12.2 or 12.3 if a huge bug pops up.
