Collapsing A Membrane Between Two Moving Struts

Post by tosiyori »

I am creating a Pterodactyl ( Ancient Flying Dinosaur) The Wings Struts Have A Flexible Membrane between the struts When The Wing Folder These Membranes Fold With The Struts Also Folding Toward The body. I Have No Problem With The Wing Main Strut & The Adjoining Movable Struts For All Collapsing Together When The Wing Folds. What I Can't Accomplish Is The Membrane Following The Struts. If I Master The Strut To One Membrane Then Moving That Strut The Membrane Moves, No Folding.
Can Anyone Direct Me To A Tutorial That Will Show How To Make A Membrane "FLOD" Between Two Moving Srut's ?

Couldn't that be done with just point animation?

Hello.

Your request interested me and I took up the challenge, so here is a small tutorial quite simple to achieve.

I have success, using the "Magnet Tool" ( X), & The "Translate Point Tool" (T) the membranes between the struts can be munipulated to stay inside the struts. It is not an easy maneuver just takes time.
I thank you both for your help on this subject.
Thanks, Toshiyori
