Portugal animation conference

Post by cynthia »

I'm back from Confia 2013. My favourite animation presentation was by Dr María Lorenzo of Valencia. She also made this remarkable 10-minute documentary on 3 animators who made animations based on their travel sketchbooks. http://vimeo.com/80357116
I found these sketchbooks and animations incredibly beautiful and inspiring. But the video goes by really fast if you have to read the subtitles (the narration is in Spanish). Try just watching the beautiful art first, then go back and read the interesting narration.

Thank you for sharing this, it really is fascinating. I loved the almost 3D look much of the animation had, as if actually travelling into the sketch pads. I will have to follow your advice to watch a second time for the narration because honestly, all I cared about was the artwork. Really great stuff!
