New episode of Fletcher, made on AS 5

Post by DanFromFaction »

Hi all,

This week has a new episode of Fletcher!
http://fletchercomics.com/week8.html

You'll notice I made the switch to blip.tv, and I'm really happy with the result. Just a much better player.

In this one I really started to play with Bone Transition, particularly with head movements. Because it's not as though your head just pivots up and down on your neck, right?

Hope you like it!

The opening line of "You know what bugs me?" had me laughing hysterically for some reason. Good episode!

The first time I was forwarded onto a UK homeworking site. The second time I was invited to download a DivX codec that I already had. The third time an advertisement started up. That's when I decided not to bother...
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

No forwarding here, just obnoxiously loud :30 ads before and after your animation.

BlipTV really does not impress me because of their heavy handed advertising. I prefer Vimeo.

BTW, fun episode, I like the "logic" of the argument!

A nicer page design would help make your site enjoyable to visit. Your F logo is pretty boring and I'm not partial to the red and yellow color combo.

Instead of ads in your video maybe some panels with banners and/or flash ads would be less offensive.

Consider building up some Fletcher swag to sell on your site.

e.g.
MegaTokyo
John K Stuff

I almost decided not to watch the episode due to the BlipTV ads.

I went into my blip.tv account and disabled the before/after ads.

Won't be a problem in the future.

And I'm still working on the site (a friend is helping me out).

As for swag, there will definitely be more in the future. I'm still trying to build a following now.

Thanks!

Check out the new design:

I wanted to make the background design look like old comic strips, faded newsprint style. I think it turned out okay.

Looking better young sir. I like the character bios too. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I like the faded newsprint concept, but now it is sensory overload and it's difficult to see the navigation and content. A plain color background for the content would help focus attention on the video itself. Then you could have the comic background behind that, or maybe in horizontal strips at the top and/or bottom?

I use Fire fox with adblock plus and I didn't see any ads what so ever on his site. Even from his 1st post I didn't get any ads.
Sorry for bad animation
