Tell me what you think! I'd love to know how I can improve. I think the cinematography (or editing) is a bit off because things go by way to fast.. but if no one else does that'll be reassuring. :mrgreen:

The first YouTube link said the video was Private.

The second one worked and really looked good! The transition from black & white to color at the beginning was unexpected and well done!

this is awesome!!! love your designs, love the building eating the car, love the dog walking a dog.

But I think you're right - the dog walking a dog and the cat catching animals sequence is too fast. It's enough time to see that things are moving out of the way (kind of like curtains opening on a scene?), but not enough time for the audience to understand what those things are. The audience can only focus on one thing at a time and they need time to shift their focus to the next thing, too. They will look where things are moving or where the composition/contrast direct their eyes. You could try starting that shot with the camera still and then maybe the woman and dog are stopped at the beginning (probably not in the center though), the truck drives out of the scene, then the woman and dog walk out out of the shot.

Another thing I noticed was that the camera seems to be changing speeds at weird times. It could be due to the kind of interpolation you're using, I think linear interpolation is the easiest to control camera stuff.

Depending on how your scene is set up, it might not be worth it to go back and change things. Everything works as it is, the only reason to change it would be if you want the audience to really see what's happening in those two sequences. But sometimes it's more important to keep moving forward, I'm sure you have lots of cool stuff coming up in the next scene.

Can't wait to see more, this looks so good!

@lwaxana,

to go more in depth with what you were saying, I totally agree. I notiv=ced it myself but thats because I am my greatest critic.

But if it was going to fast I'd like to know how you noticed the animals abusing the other animals and I need a tip on editing. There is a part of the animation where its supposed to zooming past some hills, it has a skeleton as well, how would I make that look more effective or like an actual zoom going up and over the hills?

I paused the video and watched it several times to see the animal scene more closely. I think the audience would get an impression of it, but I don't think they'd get a chance to observe all the details. Of course, they do have the option to pause and rewatch on youtube, which is nice! The skeleton part did come through for me the first time. I think I thought "woah, was that bones?" So that seemed effective to me. As far as doing complex camera moves, that's not one of my strengths. I always use stationary camera. Slowtiger and ddrake come to mind as people who have done some awesome camera moves/simulated camera moves, but I'm sure there are many others who have tips as well. But if I were you I would keep moving forward with your story and just apply any new tips to future scenes. Your concept here feels so fresh and artistic, you've really got something going here! :D
