I think my previous thread didn't get as many views because of the name bird poop. If this is considered spam (to make another thread) please let me know and I'll post this in my previous thread.

Another secret recording of my daughter.

Cute recording, well done lip syncing. Over all a good animation, but my only critique would be to make the girl look more like a younger little girl. Maybe because of the glasses, but she looks like she would be older (perhaps about ten years old) instead of I'm guessing anywhere from the 3-5 year old doing the dialog.

That little voice is adorable. As a parent, now a grandfather, it reminds me of when my children were young. I think the potential response from parents could surprise you.
I have a challenge for you. Could you find a visual way to communicate that the little girl is talking to her Dad?

I was going to put a rig of her dad (me) at the table, but I didnt want it to take away from her, I thought her to the side and up would give the cue that she was looking at him.

Do you think this would work: an initial shot that includes the dad with his back to the camera, off to the side perhaps with his head and shoulders above the frame holding just long enough to establish that this is a 'little' girl then zooming in to her before she starts to speak.
BTW, how did you make those trees? They look great.

Oh, I forgot to mention in this thread, I'm finally learning how to use my bamboo create tablet. The backgrounds were made in Sketchbook pro 6. I find that making trees and stuff like that is easier than say....the slide. My hands aren't as steady with the drawing tablet as they are with paper and pencil yet, so....but I guess that comes with time.

I'll see what other rigs I have that I can try out a father in the animation and re-upload, and see how it looks.

Thanks for the advice.

OK, so tried to put in a rig I already had made, but created a whole new one because what I have isn't as cartoony as I want this toon to be. I am glad I took the advice to add in the father, it was really fun, and I figured out a couple new things as well.

(same cartoon only with the father in it this time).

I watched it maybe ten times. Loved it. The father doesn't speak much but he reacts. When he does talk he sounds authentic. Some TV cartoon fathers have a 'singsong' quality in their voice that sounds phony to me. Nice work. :D

Well, it was an actual conversation between myself and my daughter, so it was totally authentic LOL. I don't want anyone to think I have any acting chops, we'll see in upcoming videos if I do or not, but for the near future, I have a few more of these I'd like to do.

Re-animated this one, just got around to uploading it to youtube. Same dialogue, new animations (basically the same thing, can't remember why I re-did it, and then forgot to upload, but here it is)

Really charming. I especially like the father character, really good head.

It's a bit irritating to see her teeth that often, though. Not natural.
