A static shot like this can tell a lot of story if done with the right details.

The trees should be nearly black at night, silhouettes against the house, which should be darker as well. Some streetlight would help, it could spread a bit of light at the house (use a lot of blur!). The night version lacks contrast. The windows need to be totally dark, except the ones where there's still light inside. You can indicate the time of night by switching off window lights, totally dark = 1 AM, first light on = 5 AM, some poor guy getting up for work.

The night version should have different colours: more blueish, more subdued. Just putting a blue shape over everything isn't enough, the white car would still stick out too much.

The sun doesn't rise vertically (outside the aequator). If it's visible in the frame, it should cast a shadow, which is a lot of work. Instead, imagine the sun outside to the left, and have just one big shadow in that right part of the house move.
