Club Baboo - YouTube channel for young children

Post by Lukas »

Hey guys,

At our studio we're doing a side-project where we create videos for little children and upload 3 times a week. Most of it is done in Moho. We're trying a lot of different things and want to see what's fun and quick to make and fun to watch for our audience.

It's proven quite difficult for these videos to find their audience. If you've got little kids of your own, consider subscribing! And let me know what works and doesn't and how old your child is.

Here's the channel: CLUB BABOO

Here's a small selection of what's on there so far:

Very nice clean characters & drawings! It's got a nice Saturday morning cartoon look. Great work!

Here's a new video we did recently. We took some extra time on the production value with this one, putting extra care in the designs, backgrounds etc. The 3D water spout was done in Maya and composited in After Effects. The water splash was animated in TvPaint. Please let me know what you think!

I think the extra care with the artwork paid off! The only criticism I would have is that it went on a bit too long, but well done!
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Pretty good work!
Are you a small animation company or is a one man band project?

We're an animation studio in Utrecht, The Netherlands called "Frame Order"

Here's another episode done in Moho:

Club Baboo is our channel aimed at young kids, we've got another channel that has a more mature audience where we post shorts and weekly gags: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1D26B ... MgjVWmsOuw

There's not much any character animation in this one, but all effects animation is done very quickly and easily in Moho:

Hey Lukas. it's been a while since you started club Baboo. How's it going for you? Are you getting a lot of views? Is it going to plan and meeting your expectations?

Cheers

We were hoping for more views and subscribers to be honest. But it's steadily increasing so I've got faith that we'll be able to make some money with this at some point and be able to increase production time and create videos that are actually small stories with returning characters. Right now it's quite a risk to spend more than a few days on a single video because you just don't know how it will perform. When the channel is more succesful we will definately dare to aim higher and invest more time. Right now, every view/like/subscribe counts.
