I like the mood of the scene although the bird sometimes seems to be standing still in the air which is disturbing realism. On the other hand clouds an the sun are behaving really realistic. With the right music the scene will be working i think. :)

Now this link works! 8)

Nice cloud, sun and bird animation.

a tip: u could improve the vitality of the bird by using several faster combined with some "gliding" wing movements.

but all in all a nice step forward :D

Thank for comments! Yes the bird is a bit less realistic I think, I'll try this fast movements combined with some gliding as you suggested.

Nice feel to it although the animation needs more work. The slow pace to start with.
I'd recommend the book Animals in Motion by Eadweard Muybridge as a reference. You can find it at Hedengrens in Sturegallerian (in Stockholm), they also have a lot of great animation books.

Very nice. The others have commented on the bird too, and I think besides the other suggestions, to have some more dramatic swoops. Even when birds are flying straight, they aren't flying "straight".

How did you do the sun and clouds? Very, very nice!

Yepp, beautiful. In my opinion, the best way to do birds is with those cool Bone Dynamics: A normal bone, attached with two dynamic bones (Setting 3:3:1 and for the second 2:3:1) for each wing. Then you just keyframe the two normal bones and the dynamic ones will spring fluidly! A simple "line" with bones become a bird that way. It worked for me for a background in my film EUROPE! (http://www.karpi.ch/fun/files/europe-small.wmv - London Scene - Top Right - The Bird :D)

Share and Enjoy,
Karpi

P.S. Ulrik: I loooove the music on your homepage. Very inspiring!

I went back and checked it out too - it's wonderful! Do you have more? Have you set any to animation?

What are the english names for your music och spel-songs?

Thanks rylleman for the book Animals in Motion by Eadweard Muybridge tip, I'll check it out :D
The sun was made in Gimp, it's 2 copies of the same painting, the first is still and the second I put on top and made some very very small and slowly layer transpose on it. I made 4 different cloud layers, every one of them with slightly different coloring and I used transparency and also a bit of shadowing.
Karpi: It worked for me for a background in my film EUROPE!, it sure did!! Nice work! I also used dynamic bones but with a different setting, I'll try yours now, thanks for the tip!

F.M. thank you!!

No I have not made any animation with my music yet, I'm planning to do that but I'm not capable to do that at this stage....
Jorge, if you feel like it and you're getting inspired by the music, you're welcome to animate, it would be most exciting to see :D
yes I have more music...

about the english song titles, I have to sit down and translate them someday and I will put them up on my homeside :o

I'm vey happy you liked the songs!! I'll update the site every now and then :D

WOW!!! I mean HOLY SH!T!!! Ulrik, your music is something special. Very trancendental and a whole lot of other words that escape me as I listen to more.

The animation is great too, I like your technique of layer blending to create a near photo realistic sky. I will be sure to expiriment on that method.

Again, the music was incredible. Keep it up sir, your work is inspiring.
