Animation test

Post by rboechat »

Hi!

My name is Rogerio.
I am a brazilian designer/animator working in a animation studio called LUVA (http://www.luva.tv).
Here is an animation test we did for an upcoming short film called "Adestrado" (witch means "Trained") that we are currently working on.

https://vimeo.com/71988574

The animation was done in Anime Studio and we used After Effects for some color correction and minor adjustments.

Thanks!

Very nice style!

Two points:
1. The small dog runs the same number of steps as the following one. It should be much more different, smaller jumps, faster movement.
2. There's something off with the fat dog jumping the hoop. It looks like he aims to get stuck, instead of aiming to his landing point. Also some more stretch&squash may help to improve the "stuck" part.

Agreed with this. When they both walk out at the end, the small dog takes many more steps, his run in should mimic this.

Otherwise it looked good, I liked the shaking effect before the big dog even enters. Very nicely done and it looks great!

Thanks for the comments!

PS: We are already changing the run cycle for the smallest dog :)

I love the style!! It's so funny to me that I love that simplistic style and struggle to achieve it myself. I start out with that intention, but then.... <sigh> I always go overboard. I have no restraint. :)

My initial reaction without reading any comments was great. I watched again to check the run cycles... and yes, I have to agree the faster smaller steps of the little dog would add that bit of extra detail and comedy. There's something really funny about tiny dogs running.

Excellent job!
