Fencing Animation WIP

Post by shift »

Working on a fencing animation. I recently became involved in a fencing association and the sport has intrigued me so much so that it has inspired me to start working on this.

This is not at all what I'm into, but the movements are impressive. Obviously a lot of passion for the sport is behind this.

Interesting that so many people have posted work today.

Seemed to repeat a few of the shots, but then I love the original He-Man cartoon and they used three shots to construct all 100 episodes or whatever there were.

It looks great and I liked the "peek" into the helmet. One this the jumped out was the POV shot through the opponent's legs as he slides back. There are lines that I'm guessing are supposed to be wrinkles in the fabric but they look more like varicose veins.

LOL @ varicose veins. I so agree. I straightened them a bit for the final version because they were bothering me too. Take a look and let me know what you think There are a few 180 degree rule violations in there.

Been getting good feedback on this. People have been asking me to expand the story. I might just do that. It will give me more challenges anyway.

That there are, and it was a bit jarring, but overall this still looks good and tells a story without a single word being spoken. Nice!
