How to delete bone translate animation on only x or y axis?

Post by ulrik »

I have a long animation where I have to delete one bones translate animation, but only on the x-axis, I want the y animation to be in touch, how do I do that?
Do I have to open the anime file in some text editor and manually erase it or...?

Probably text editor is the best way :(
Or you go to each keyframe (navigating with with the Next keyframe button) and press Reset for Y or X in the Transform bone options (but, of course, a script would do a faster job)

Oh, sorry, it's not about pressing reset, but writing 0 on the Y or X textbox. My mistake.

I found a better way, I selected the bone which I wanted to change the translate animation, opened the Motion Graph, double clicked the translate channel, selected all keyframes, hold shift and place the cursor on one of the keyframes on the x-axis, then drag them to where you want them.
This is not what I asked in the topic, but this was what I wanted to do, so I'm happy :D

Well it will not be exact, but enough for this project so...
I wish the x and y channels had one channel each, then it would be easy to delete unwanted keys, for this project it would have been nice to be able to select all keys and with numbers write it in, i.e. first x value 0 and all other frames changed relative to that.
