Saved "character wizard characters": can they be imported?

Post by Telemacus »

You know how sometimes you spend a little time creating a new character with the character wizard and you save it into the wizard so that you can re-use it in the future making a few adjustments perhaps (note that I'm not talking about saving it as an .anime file or exporting it, that's different).
Then a new version of AS comes along and... those characters you spent time on are now gone.
Is there a way to import them into the character wizard of the new version?

Maybe this has been asked before, but can't find the thread.

If you save the character as a preset, you can copy the preset file from old AS AppData folder to new AppData folder (in Windows 8, the path would be something like C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Roaming\Smith Micro\Anime Studio Pro\8.0\Character Wizard Presets). Some character parts have been removed between versions, so it may not look quite identical.

There are a few threads on Character Wizard, but they are buried in the bowels of the forum: Character Wizard Mods
