No keyframe channels? Fill style options, effects

Post by Raaskot »

Animated effects under the Style tab appears feasible , but I cannot find the keyframes respectively. To catch the keys in blind scrubbing (and checking the "crayon-modal") is pretty tedious.

Is there anything I've missed to view the key frames in the timeline sheet?

I tested this out and, with timeline channels set to auto, I was immediately seeing keyframes on my selected shape related to the crayon effect:

I guess, just to confirm, you have the the artwork selected via the Select Shape tool? They should be visible via the Selected Shape Effects channel.

Alan, that only applies to changing the effect on the shape itself. Changing it in the applied style doesn't show the keyframes.

Raaskot, it's better to animate such effects on a shape first and then copy/paste it into a saved style. If you need to, you can first copy/paste the saved style to a shape, animate the effect, and then copy/paste it back into the style.

Thank you, synthsin75 and alanthebox. Your responses made me a lot wiser on what is going on:)

Yet trying to save my existing artwork: Any ideas how to get rid of the "invisible" style-keyframes? Without first do as follows: Removing the style, (1) q-select every shape when (as in my case) the vector layers consists of several, and (2) apply a new style, and again, shape by shape?.

In the actual sequence I cannot see the altered states without scrubbing the timeline, opening and closing the "Effects 1" modal simultaneously to "clean up" my erratic additions. And prospective alterations alike may be a nightmare.

Better would be swapping the "erratic" style for a altered new one (with desired values), but this is not an option i Moho as far as I understand.

@synthsin75, a question. Perhaps I can't quite comprehend the procedure: By copy/paste it back into the style, do you mean applying the values to the modals textfields one by one? Unfortunately I just can't copy/paste the channel values.

Try this:
1. Draw a temporary shape on one of your vector layers.
2. Select your saved style for editing.
3. Hit the Copy button (in the style window).
4. Select your temporary shape and hit the Paste button (in the style window).
5. Deselecting and reselecting this shape will then show your effect keyframes.
6. Animate the effect on this temporary shape.
7. Select that shape and hit Copy (in the style window).
8. Select your saved style for editing.
9. Hit Paste (in the style window).

Now all of your animation on the temporary shape is in the saved style, already applied to all your other shapes.

Eureka, it works! I would NEVER have figured out that procedure myself.
Thanks a lot, synthsin75, for your cool and comprehensible stepbysteps!

Kind regards,
