Multiple Timelines in a project

Post by Tryll »

I think it would be awesome if Moho could save and load multiple timelines in a project. That way you could try animation variations, or create a series of animations which had the same assets.

As long as everything is in the same group layer, you can use actions as separate, test timelines.

Interesting. I considered using actions but felt that there were probably some limitations I hadn't thought of. I'll probably give that a try.

Some people have used a master switch group layer (with sub-groups) as a scene switcher. You can also set [View] > [Active Switch Layer Only] for greater visibility distinction.

I've done that a bit. It makes for an extremely dense layers panel, and a difficult to maintain project (at least for me.)

While I appreciate the workaround, trying to avoid that is pretty much what prompted the feature request.

I'm thinking of it almost like comps in AfterEffects, or Timelines in Davinci Resolve.

Yeah - it would be 'great' to move to more of an Asset & Timeline approach - where those elements can be placed into a scene/timeline and not be omnipresent. It would mean a move away from the 'Frame 0' approach.

I would also love to have an 'object-protection' option where assets (groups of layers) are manipulatable (as a whole) but the inners are otherwise protected from non-deliberate selection / edit (i.e. require double click into / right-click edit - to edit).
