How to hide a set of bones with a vector layer?

Post by Ty505 »

So when I hide a layer I'd like to hide the bones associated with it as well - how can it be done?

Here's the issue: https://imgur.com/N8KfS4e

in the vid it looks as though you have a bone layer (vid resolution is too low to be confident that I have the layer names right) GI Rig Main Layer (?) which has many child layers -- and you're hiding one of them Aeger (???) which is a group layer.

And you want just the bones associated with that child layer (group) to be hidden when you click the "eyes" icon? (It isn't clear if that means all bones in the Main layer or just some.)

Assuming it's just some of the bones:

that's a most likely a scripting task with the set-up you have (e.g. layerscript in the bone layer to hide bones of a specific colour when a layer with that colour is hidden)

OR

make a new bone layer / convert existing group to bone, and put the bones that are specific to the child layer in that new layer - and in the original bind the child bone layer to a newly created bone - and hide the bone group, not the vector layer
