Swap full body rigs with Vitruvian Bones?

Post by gfxdug »

I get how V-bones work inside of a single pose all housed in a master bone layer–how would you go about swapping between 2 (or more) full body rigs? ...or "should" you?

To switch between full-body rigs, it might make more sense to use a Switch Layer to switch between bone or character groups.

Vitruvian Bones is normally used for switching between sub-rigs within a rig (i.e, jointed arm or noodle arm.) But if you really want to try switching between whole-body rigs, the rigs need to share a common root bone and you can switch from there.

I can see some advantages in this setup but, unless the rigs are simple, I think this setup could get unwieldy and impractical to work with. I'm curious to hear how it goes, though.

Hope this helps.

I think it would complicate the rigging process, having to make more steps each time you want to make a modification of any of the rigs on F0.

You can check the broccoli character from the library.

Ha, ha! That's fantastic, Victor!

I wasn't aware this was in the Library. I'll have to make time to pick it apart. :D

If I remember correctly, wasn't that a Broccoli Hulk? Where is it in the library? I went through all the characters and couldn't find it.

The file is called "broccoli." Do a search in the library. Note: the thumbnail looks like a photo of broccoli, but the file is not a prop, it's a character.

Mystery solved. I was on my older computer looking in Moho 12.5 but I found Broccoli on my new computer in Moho 13.5.5.
