I'm looking for a vector drawing program (not a bitmap converter) for Red Hat Linux. Hopefully one that supports a tablet and can export as an eps. Any suggestions?
I'll second jorgy - Inkscape (a Sodipodi offshoot, I think) looks worth investigating, although I know the URL as http://inkscape.sourceforge.net/ - same site, different entry door
inkscape is being developed with SVG standards as being a main focus, sodipodi is being developed with a full featured vector illustration application in mind.

Ah! Thanks for that - I wasn't aware of the two different goals.
?? I had the impression that inkscape was also going toward full featured vector application... did you look at the roadmap plans for both?? they look really similar to me.
Sure, full featured, but inkscape is focusing on being totally compliant with the SVG standards, whereas many apps support for SVG is more lipservice, and don't give consistent results, or leave out a lot of the functionality in the standard.
