Any tutorial/hints/examples on animating superhero capes?

Wondering how to accomplish a certain animation task? Ask here.

Any tutorial/hints/examples on animating superhero capes?

Post by ruibjr »

I am interested in learning how to do some superhero kind of animations in ASP.
I am learning how to rig characters, and how to animate them.
There's a lot to learn, I know, but things got really complicated when I tried to add a cape to the test subject.
There seems to be no easy way to animate the cape, at least that is what I feel.
I wonder if you guys know an easier way to do it, maybe some sort of script, or some ASP feature that I did not catch.
Thanks.

There is no script. There is no button.

However, there are lots of books about animation available at amazon and maybe in your local library. Search for the "waving flag" principle and adapt this to your needs.

Thanks, SlowTiger.
I am going to study it.
I asked that because I thought ASP might have some cloth-simulation feature that I was not aware of, which by the way would be a gret feature to have :)

I would video tape a towel flapping and look at it frame by frame.
