I found it pretty helpful so far; at the very least for what I've played with. I'll work on it some more probably tommorow after work got the morning shift so I'll save the other bones for later.

Heres what I got done so far^ I've layer binded the arm and used smart bones to fix points and curvature. Let me know if this is the correct way to be doing this so I'll know whether or not to continue to do it for the rest of the rig.
I'm not sure how to fix this.

Re: I'm not sure how to fix this.
Yes, that's a much better method. Layer or point binding work well, if you want total control over how the art changes during a joint bend...without any extra flexibility at the joint, other than what your smart bones are doing.
There's also no need to separate the art (supposedly to use the bone offset tool), as layer binding will not interfere with other art the way flexible binding can. Of course, if separating the art helps with setup, by all means. Personally, I'd just hide some elements to get a better view while rigging.

Ok so here is the updated rig; https://www.mediafire.com/file/9rn9tjj7 ... .moho/file
First is there anything I should consider fixing and second I was thinking of adding some shading to the whole thing; I saw that in the moho startup there was a gorilla that did shading using masking layers is there a tutorial that does this using a similar method or is there a better way to do it altogether.
P.S. Thanks for your guys' help thus far.

Looks pretty good. I'd probable set the root, and maybe the torso, bones to independent angle or ignored by IK, so moving the limbs doesn't move everything else.
