Poster, as in movie poster? Ham it up with Photoshop, or the free, and still very good alternative, The Gimp.

I use MoHo to do posters.... i know someone will come along and say "well blah blah blah Photoshop blah blah blah Illustrator" but if you get the right dimensions you could easily use MoHo to do that type of work.... but then again i've only ever done up to A3 posters so far....
