I would like to custom some short cuts, because is hard for me accommodate with the actuals, specially in the workspace navigation, i draw with a tablet, and do zoom in or zoom out, is discomfort hold shift key and right button on the pencil, with a mice works great, but in tablet isn't the same, i would prefer the universal "Z" button to zoom as in almost all softwares, and other tools, but this is the request, i hope this will be possible, Thanks.

To assign custom short-keys you need to create or edit your strings.EN.txt

If none exist, you could only put the short keys you need as in...

/Menus/Draw/InsertText=Insert text...T

That assigns ctrl-t as a short cut for Insert text.

Edit: If you have an existing file, make a backup of it first!

You can change any tool shortcut, too.
Look for "_tool_list.txt" probably on
C:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Anime Studio Pro 8\scripts\tool\_tool_list.txt

That txt files has a letter or number for the tools shortcut. Three points (...) means there is no shortcut for that tool.
Before change it, make a backup of the file to avoid possible problems in future.

Thank you very much, i hope they do it with graphic interface, some option in Preferences or something like that.

For Mac users the route is:
/Applications/Anime Studio Pro 8/scripts/tool/_tool_list.txt

Doesn't varies to much, but there's always who no knows how to.

Hi, thanks (everyone here) for the pointers.

I realise this is an old post so things have probably changed, but i want to edit some menu shortcuts yet I cannot find the strings.EN file - I can see a strings_old.EN file so I am presuming this is now outmoded.

I was about to edit this file, but got so carried away trying to figure out the syntax of the commands (One thing I was looking to see was if I could set ctrl-shift-S to save as) that I forgot the main command I was trying to edit. :)

Can I / Should I edit this file?..

Allowing for the limited alphabet I am curious if there is indeed a way to extend shortcuts to cover ctrl+shift+?

assuming of course that I can indeed remember 25+ commands

Is it possible to show/hide windows like the Layers window that doesn't have its own default shortcut? What would the line to edit be?

Anime Studio pro 11.2
Is there a way to make short cut key commands for add frame, duplicate frame etc? How do you do it?

Go to Help and click on Edit Keyboard Shortcuts. Then navigate to Window:Main, there you will find the Add, Duplicate and Delete Frame items.

Oh, but this thread is old and mostly obsolete.
