I am currently working on an animation. I have only 14 seconds right now and not all the sound effects are in and not all the details. But I'm pretty proud of it so far based on where I'm coming from as a self taught animator. Not sure if you've seen my early work. The mosquito animation and the Vybz Kartel Animation. They should be in my signature.

I wasn't going to share this till I was finished with it (aiming for 1 minute) but I figured feedback would be encouraging. Let me know what you think.

Everything was done in Anime Studio 5.

Cool :D

liked: grass, audio, motion, pretty much everything.

there were only a couple of things that caught my eye...
* you need to fix the drivers nose. it totally distracted for me.
* maybe a bit of roll on the cars as they move to overtake.?
* on the close up of the driver just before he shifts gears.. maybe close the eyes a bit and tilt head forward a little... kind of a determined face thing?

* tiny minor point but the tree and grass were in the middle of the screen so I think your composition was a little plain

all the above are just my opinion and that should be taken with a pinch of salt..

really liked it..waiting for more.

Thanks. I'm really glad you like it. I decided to choose a topic I love to help keep me motivated. I like your tips. I had definitely thought about the things you said. I guess I was just lazy and I figured no one would notice, but since you pointed them out I will definitely adjust them. It's the little things that matter eh? So much so you didn't even mention that the cars had no lights on lol.

Background wise I've been looking at PARKER's stuff and trying to emulate him. I've gotten better as a result but I'm still waaaaaaaaaaaay behind on background. Definitely going to purchase his tutorials as soon as I can.

I figured they were avoiding the cops with the lights off ;)

I only noticed those thing because I watched it so many times and you asked for feedback else I wouldn't have thought much if it and simply enjoyed it.

Try sketching stuff rough first and then trace it. That would help on style and composition but you will find your own way. Good stuff

Wow this is very well directed, a really good impression of speed!

Any tips about the motion blur on the first shot?

Honestly, for that part I just added streaks behind the car. I think the only place I use a blurred movement effect is on the grass that moves as the car passes and the bushes that move in the second shot.

It's been a while since my last post. Been busy doing database administration by day and screen writing by night. Got the flu and had to stay in today. Great excuse to do a little animation. Here is my latest update. Just 20 seconds. Still a work in progress.

Sneak Peak. I'm almost 2 minutes in. I had put this project down for a long time. An animation contest deadline in Trinidad and Jamaica are coming up soon so that has managed to motivate me to cover some ground. I'm animating right now. Unfortunately the follow path is proving trickier than the instructions and online tutorials suggest so I'm about to key frame the next driving sequence. Let me know what you think so far. It should be approximately 3 minutes when I'm done.
