Layer suddenly not editable - check this:

I encountered a strange situation in a modestly complex scene. Everything went fine until I wanted to move a layer inside a group layer and couldn't. Further exploration showed that this only happened after a certain frame. So I checked the parent layers and found a position and a scale key. When I moved them down to the right, I could edit the layers inside. So I just edited and in the end moved those top keys back in time. But I still had no idea why this had happened.
I think I've dreamt about this, because this morning I checked again. And I found the mistake I made: in the scale key, I had legal values for X and Y, but a 0 for Z. Changed that 0 to 1, and I could edit everything inside that layer easily again.
So, again: Check your Z values if something doesn't move as expected, or vanishes!
