Frame counter

Post by slowtiger »

Can we have a frame/SMPTE counter implemented in Moho?

It should be possible to start at any value a user enters. Separate layer, so it can be rendered/hidden as anything else. Maybe with some options to design size/colour/placement.

Would be very useful for larger teams for review of animation.

This might work in the meantime:

It's a menu script to create a note layer as either a frame or SMPTE counter. If you run it again on an existing counter layer, you can change which format it displays. Otherwise, it creates a new counter layer.

The link seems to be broken Wes. I'm getting a 400 error. When available, I'm sure this script is going to be useful.

As a Lua novice, creating a frame counter seemed like my speed and I was thinking of trying that over the holidays. Realistically though, I probably wouldn't have gotten around to it so your time is much appreciated! Maybe I can try making it before you fix the link so I can see just how bad my scripting skills are.

Update: the link on the other thread you posted works so the issue must be with the link posted above. The working link is:

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=down ... nxVEaGlrXO

Looks like the link isn't completely enclosed in the tag.

Thanks, Dennis. I fixed the link in this thread. I must have copied it from the other thread, in its abbreviated form.
The math to get the SMPTE timecode was the hardest bit, but only because I'd already figured out how to write and embed a layerscript by tool/menu script. Since note layers are normally not animatable, a layerscript was the only option.

Corrected link works fine and and the script does exactly what it's supposed to do. Thanks Wes! 😸

Hello everyone.
I would like to use that script on Moho 14, but unfortunatly "SMPTE" does not work.
Am I doing something wrong or is it because the new moho14?

Thank you for your help!
